Leadership

The Panhellenic Association at Indiana University focuses on developing leaders both within the Greek community and within the Indiana University community as a whole.  We strive to create women leaders while they’re at IU, but also to prepare our women for success after college.  To make this happen, we encourage young leaders to attend programs like LEADIU and LeaderShape,  and IU hosts the i-GEL (Indiana Greek Emerging Leaders) retreat each semester.

i-GEL focuses specifically on issues occurring within the IU community and how to address those issues in a way that aligns with the values of each Greek chapter.

Other ways that Panhellenic encourages and embraces leaders include the SIPE program which new members participate in to focus on values, ritual, and identify their commitment to their organizations. Junior Greek Council is a program that facilitates conversation and discussion among members of all 19 chapters to encourage friendship, communication, and leadership skills among all chapters.

There are also opportunities within the Panhellenic Association to become an active leader; for example becoming a member of the Panhellenic Executive Council or a Panhellenic Director.  Panhellenic also supports a variety of organizations on campus with which many Greek women are involved. These organizations include, IUDM, IUSF, IUSA, and SAB, and many more.

Regardless of which organization Panhellenic women at IU choose to participate and hold leadership positions in, Panhellenic Association's goal remains to foster the necessary skills within individuals to allow them to lead with integrity.
