On behalf of the Panhellenic Association, welcome to Indiana University!
IU is home to one of the largest and oldest Greek systems in the country. About 20 percent of IU undergraduates choose to participate in Greek-letter organizations. The Panhellenic Association, the governing body of 19 women’s sororities, would like to encourage you to explore one of the nation’s most prestigious and rewarding college traditions — Greek life.
Why join a sorority? The IU Greek system offers a home-away-from-home, friendships and sisterhood, as well as philanthropic, leadership and service opportunities. In one year, IU Greek organizations provided the community with over 33,000 hours of service. IU Greeks hold about 15 percent of campus leadership positions. With the support of this community you can enhance your experience as a Hoosier and create networks, connecting you to IU for life.
Each sorority has their own ritual and rich traditions, offering a meaningful history and life-long legacy for each chapter member. Creating the base for these rituals and traditions is a set of values that all Greek women use in their daily lives.
We hope that you are interested in the rich and rewarding opportunities that IU’s Greek system has to offer. The recruitment process at IU is one in which you seek out a chapter that matches your own values and beliefs.
Go Hoosiers and Go Greek!
